I've topped quite a few in Missouri and they are still alive. Jim Ward was big on topping them too.

I drove by some topped cedars today. I’d guess they were 12” DBH. Growing under power lines and topped. I’ve driven by them several times while scouting for ducks. Never noticed them till today.

Why are you topping off? To limit vertical growth?

Why are you topping off? To limit vertical growth? Hillside has very little cover and want to use the tops for more structure while keeping the cedar alive
