I've been getting up at 4:40am, it "feels" earlier than that but I wake up easy so it's not a problem. What hammers me this week is when I go to bed and my body doesn't want to sleep yet. The clock might say it's late, but my body says it's an hr early. Takes me a week or so to get smoothed out. The fall change takes me months to adjust.

My wife gives me a lot of crap about it. She doesn't understand how I can keep waking up an hour before the alarm, or stay up an hour after going to bed at the "right time".

When I worked, I was usually awake 5-10 minutes before the alarm.
