I've bought their 2 wheel version in 2008. Other some issues a couple years ago it's been solid. The biggest problem I run into is my 4 wheeler constantly overheating. Wheelers aren't made to go slow I guess. I've had the same problem with my liquid cooled Polaris, going real slow lugging a load does not work very well. I have used air cooled Hondas and other than sitting on top of a furnace they never missed a beat. Interesting about the Honda. I may have to consider one as I have to shut down constantly the last hour of trail cutting. Mowing trails through 5 ft tall warm season grass doesn't help!

When I get to really mowing with this thing I'll report back with the Yamaha Kodiak results. I bought the bigger ATV (700) with this kind of work in mind. Until now, I've wished I had a smaller machine that is more nimble on the woods trails. Time to put it to work this Summer and see.

We have a 2000 Honda Foreman 400 at the family cabin for pulling docks and lifts. The unit is bullet proof and I used it allot when i first purchased my place. The fan ran allot but it ran like a top. Riding on top of it gets pretty warm though, you will sweat your ass off but it will get the job done.

Mowed the sticks in the new plot tonight up here, you know, the ones the dozer just tipped over that sprang back. Worked great. I ran it on the highest setting to start. I think I’ll lower it some tomorrow and hit it again. I’m happy with it. It would have taken all day with the walk behind DR. Took a quick picture or two. On the trail out to the plot. Back in camp after an evening mow.

How long did it take you to get the first cut done?

Couple hours max. Didn’t time. ~3 acres at around 4MPH.

Any updates on how your Yamaha is functioning at slow speed with DR? I cut trails this weekend in cool temps by Missouri standards, 81 degrees, and need to find a different solution than my King Quad 750 if there is one. I'm mowing 5-6 foot tall WSG so it's slow going with plenty of dust/pollen/schrapnel covering the radiator so perhaps nothing will work. I had to stop about every 100 ydsand let her cool down for 5 minutes or so. Too much time wasted.

I ran it hard one day in the heat and my legs got hot. The fan ran, but nothing ever flashed on the console and the machine seemed to handle it just fine. The work I did doesn't clog the radiator though.
