Nice work! Your tractor looks dirty, a leaf blower works great to get the first couple of layers off. It does look dry. Maybe you need some rain dance juice to get your feet moving. It can’t hurt.

^ Yep.....I ran a full tank of fuel through the tractor today. When I got done the low fuel warning was lit. Brushed my windows off a time or three....but the tractor is filthy. Had no time to clean much. Fair chance of catching a shower later tonight. I will be doing a little rain dance later. . I'm trying to get stuff done in June. Will have little time for this stuff in July and part of August due to my wife's upcoming surgery.

Tilled 1.5 acres but planted 6. That must be that fancy JPS math.

Now it’s not a 30 minute hassle. Learning is fun and makes shit easier. But the atv crapped out on me this weekend. I think it’s time for a new one. Between the deer damage on my truck and a new atv it’s going to be an expensive June I’m afraid.

Between the deer damage on my truck and a new atv it’s going to be an expensive June I’m afraid. Couple thoughts on implements: I have a few PTO couplers that I have to fight. Those are the ones where you have to pull a collar back while pushing the PTO shaft onto the tractor. Whomever invented that POS collar arrangement should be shot. The cross pin PTO seems good to me. I have PAT"s EZ Change on my drag links.....and it makes it pretty easy to change implements. I would like a quick hitch....but I got too much old chit to make a quick hitch a reality. The PAT's seem to work well enough for me. I bought an old engine hoist on Craigs List for pretty cheap. I use it to mount my tiller. It's got a hydraulic lift to hold the tiller and makes connecting a breeze. Makes getting it on and off the tractor simple compared to the past. I put a few of my often used implements on rolling carts made to fit them.....which makes them easy to store and connect to my tractor. No rocket science....but they work pretty well and I can pack stuff kinda tight in my machine shed as a result of having stuff portable. One thing I added to my 3 point was a Hydraulic Top Link. That has been a real time saver and I get much better adjustments to my implements as well as easier hook ups to the 3 point.

^. Yep....you need the remotes and a valve to operate the top link. I got quite a few thing like that accomplished when I went to my new Kubota. I got two pairs of remotes and valves to operate hydraulic cylinders. That makes using my stump grinder or a hydraulic top link pretty easy. Also have a hydraulic circuit for the cylinder on my grapple to grab stuff. Lots of expense to add this stuff to an existing tractor....but not too bad when new....but you gotta know how to specify these things. Things have changed allot in this area over the years. So many good features on the newer tractors. Such as cabs, AC / Heat, lights, window wipers and washers, radios, hydrastaci trannys, power steering, tilt and telescoping wheel, cruise control, auto throttle advance, stall guard, lots of hydraulic options, and so much more. I still like the old tractors.....but the newer stuff has much more to offer. It all comes at a price of course......but the way things are going......I'm not sure if it's a cost or an investment. . I think my two year old tractor is worth as much as I paid for it...maybe more. It's sure a pleasure to operate this stuff.....tho Kubota should offer a better seat.

You have to have a rear hydraulic remote to install a hydraulic top link. our tractor is 2008(ish) Guessing we dont have that, otherwise at some point I would have looked at soemthing and wondered.... Well WTF is that for. But will look this weekend. God would that be nice to have!!!!

At least for ours it was hooking the pto up first (every video I watched and manual I read had hooking the pto up last) and leaving the pto selector on the middle so that I can rotate the rear pto shaft on the tractor to help line up the splines or w/e the hell they’re called. No issues the two times I’ve done it now. Takes seconds and I’m off. We have the iMatch quick hitch.

It’s $400 to get it set up with the quik connect collars. Might do it someday but I’ve got it done to seconds now so hopefully it’s good for awhile.

They may also have hydraulic quick connectors on them. In this pic it shows a hydraulic top link and hydraulic tilt link.
