I was told the only stupid question was the one you didn't ask, as there were possibly others thinking the same thing.
Question - Would bear hunters pay a premium to hunt for a RED/cinnamon phase bear in MN? Right now I have two on property, just thinking ahead.
I'm sure some may. Some want all color phases....kinda like a grand slam? Lots of guys want the blonds.....and others like the cinnamon. Not sure how you would locate those hunters tho. I'm a leg man myself.

Additional information - I'm in a no quota zone so no advance application for bear tag needed.

I may know of a hunter (originally from SD) that would like to hunt bears in MN.....and a color phase and sure thing license would appeal to him. Also my grand son is looking to hunt bears. He is a good hunter.....and his dad would likely accompany him (he has some bear experience). Are you willing to bait and do stand site?? PM me?

Anyone else apply for bears in 2023? I just looked online and found that I drew a bear tag in Wisconsin. The new bear zones have increased the number of tags in our unit to deal with the ag damage and it has dramatically reduced the number of preference points needed to draw. It used to take 8 + years to draw a tag and now it is down to 2. Two other friends and one friend's daughter applied this year, so it could be a really interesting hunt. We will bait my land and my friend's land a few miles down the road.

Only 2% of the applicants with 9 points in zone A drew a tag. My two friends and my friend's daughter also drew a tag for this bear season in WI. I'm guessing there will eventually be hunters switching from other zones to hunt our zone D since it is easier to draw a tag here now. It will be pretty fun to be able to bear hunt every other year on my place now. The deer hunting isn't the greatest, but the bear hunting is exceptional.

I really believe this is last years cub. It hadn't grown much since I saw it in April. It's been alone. We had horrible mast production last year will little or no apples or nuts. Thoughts Tom?

Looks like last year's cub. Mom probably kicked her out as it is time for mom to get bred. The small size is probably due to being the runt of litter and being a female.

Some times they will join up with mom, not very often. They are more likely to join up with other siblings.
