I’m fortunate, I have one owner on 3 sides, mostly fields but no hunters. The 4th side is land locked and no hunters. There are plenty of hunters in the neighborhood but none right next door. I think the ideal situation in Minnesota would involve one of these …. 1.. 80-200 acres or more Surrounded by agricultural. 2. Border a State Park, City Park or refuge. 3. Metro parcel area with no hunting around it, or archery only. 4. An impenetrable swamp on at least half of your property. Obviously there are exceptions of landowners and neighborhoods where they pass young bucks and harvest does. There are some of those in Otter Tail County I know. A guy can’t complain about the habitat here in MN, it’s as good as anywhere. . I now have irrigated fields on 3 sides of me. Deer are scattered at present, until the corn and beans come off.

I remember some of the parcels I looked at before buying this one. 40-80 acre chunks for the most part, all surrounded by similarly sized parcels with similar habitat on at least 3 sides. I'm sure glad I didn't buy any of those
