So today I rewired my electrical connection for the fimco sprayer direct to my battery on my UTV. (I used to use a small "portable" battery to power the sprayer....which is a PITA).
So after priming the pump and getting the connections together for the season.....one of the end nozzles is leaking like a sieve. Had to shut if to "off" and use the other two nozzles to get the job done. On the way to my plots with a full tank of gly.....I'm running the mixing bypass.....when the hose blows and coats the entire UTV and me with Gly mix. Get it shut down and put a new clamp on the joint....and get dried up.
Go to spray two small clover plots.....and the switch is pretty hot.....and now does not work? Cant fix the switch and it's somewhat melted inside. So....I have nearly a full tank of gly mix and have to leave to get to Doctor conference.
Went to buy the needed replacement parts for my sprayer and it's $117. for a bunch of wiring and plastic chit. That end nozzle on a boomless sprayer is $78 !!!! I bet that those parts dont cost FIMCO $4.00. Really pisses a guy off......and it's always some ordeal to get it operating each year.
Every year this sprayer costs me a bundle to own. Ive replaced the pump twice and many plastic fittings and manifold etc. I hate my FIMCO sprayer. I got nothing done today.
OK.....Rant over.

Yeah, they're pieces of shit. If somebody could make a solid atv sprayer they'd be in the money. Seems they all suck.

I bring mine home every year and spend quality time. Every year, I milk it through the season. Didn't do a lot of spraying last year. This year I'm in spray city. Fingers crossed.

I keep allot of spare parts and hoses for mine. Seems all the parts are cheap and break pretty easy or leak. It's always a bit cheaper to fix it than replace the damn thing.....and I dont know what I would replace it with?
I suppose I got two years of trouble free operation before having to replace everything over time.

I pull mine all apart and run compressed air through it. Then in Spring....in order to prime that pump.....I put the nozzle from my air hose into the tank (where the teather cord is) to force the pump to prime. Works slick.

Sounds like a lot of the reviews I read on fimco when deciding on a sprayer last year. Went with North Star. Doubt it’s going to be much better but we’ll see. First year was good. Will need to use it soon. Hoping I don’t have all those issues. I ran RV antifreeze thru it before putting it away.

Aren't they all the same thing with different names and colors?

Who knows if this review is worth a crap, but Fimco has none in top 10. I guess, I could keep looking until I find a review that has Fimco at the top too. We have been pretty lucky most years. Last year we did replace the pump on our Fimco, but its gotta be 15+ years old. Plus I got one that Foggy picked up for me a handful of years ago with the long boom kit. Dont use that one much, but its worked.

I have been limping along with my FIMCO for a long time now. When it works it’s fine but it’s temperamental. I would like a 60 gallon roller pump boom sprayer.

I’m with ya, I spent about 5 hours on Saturday (I have the sunburn to prove it) fucking with the Fimco only to realize the pump went to shit and had a crack in it. New one coming tomorrow.
