Won a few dollars on this par three today on what was almost a hole in one. Shot a 41...on 9 holes....which is pretty good for me. Pretty hot...glad we didn't play 18

Wow, can't get much closer to that! Would have sucked if someone snuck inside you to steal the pot! Do you golf much in the summer in MN? You seemingly have it dialed in right now.

135 yards, par 3 hole. Had a little "butter fade" on the ball.....and did sneak it close. Just missed the other par 3 "money hole" as my ball rolled back onto the fringe with a front pin placement. Fun day playing golf. FORE!

Good shot Tom, have you ever hit a hole in 1? Or has anyone in your group?

Good shot Tom, have you ever hit a hole in 1? Or has anyone in your group? I've missed a few as in that shown above. Close....but no cigar. Many of the guys I play with have had one or more. If you play enough golf....and you get lucky.....a hole in one will happen. Other guys spend a lifetime.....and never get one. A certain amount of luck has to be on your side. If I live long enough......I may get one. I have had many birdies.....and close to an eagle or two on some long par 5's (which to me would be a bigger event)........but alas. It's all fun.

Fun day playing golf. FORE! P wedge or 9? Nah.....you gotta remember I am an old guy. I hit a light 7 iron to get this done. I "might" be able to hit an 8 iron that far......but most likely I would come up short. I have some pretty heavy irons (game improvement irons, with senior shafts) so I don't hit 'em as far as I might if I were younger. My joints wont take the punishment of stiff shafts and such......so I gotta play within my ability with lower yardage clubs. (when you get older......you gotta play schmarter - grin). I have some thoughts about some lighter weight irons at times.....and I think I could pick up some yards. But.....at my age (hate to sound too old) I gotta preserve my joints and body......and will sacrifice some yards to save my body (if that makes sense?). Ive had so many joint issues.....I am just glad to be relatively pain free and hitting a golf ball right now.

^ Along these same lines......I 'Used" to be quite able to hit some 250 yard "plus" drives. But these days I a m satisfied with a well placed drive that will roll out to 200 to 225 yards. Keeping within ones means and ability is the hardest part of golf for me. If I can learn the right "tempo" and stay within my means........I can be tough to beat. Sadly.....I continue to forget these words......and can reach "too far' at times. Grin.

Yes rhythm in crucial, even to hitting far. Look at Fred Couples

I play a few times each week in my "hood" back in MN. Grandview lodge is very friendly with the locals......so I belong to their course(s). They offer a 36 hole course, another 18 hole course, and a nine hole "garden" course. Price is "VERY" right for this kinda play.....and includes unlimited practice balls and a GPS cart. I've not seen a better deal on quality golf anywhere. If any of you guys wanna play one day this summer in the Brainerd area.....let me know. I do get a decent rate and will try to make a good day out of it.
