Fuck! Just had the target 9 pointer stroll through the food plot at 25 yards. Didn’t come check out the water like he has in past nights. Just not close enough for my daughter. I could have drilled that thing though. Had to slap my hand so I wouldn’t grab my bow!

We didn’t buy my daughters bonus tag until today so it’s not valid until tomorrow. This doe came straight into the plot and got a drink. Exactly what that buck was supposed to do. We might end up sitting tomorrow night in the heat hoping deer will come and get a drink.

Saw five in my new plot tonight. No bucks. Here’s two. They walked right up the skinny plot into Big North and exited to the Northwest. If you squint just right you can see the behind the middle conifer.

Great night tonight. Had 4 bucks come in after 7pm, 3 shooters. Got to about 35 yards but didn’t feel like flinging one that far on a warm night. They were sparring the entire time they left the field. Could hear the antlers clinking. Nothing ferocious but I’ve never really seen it. Saw 5 does and fawns before that. I should have been in the blind instead of the tree stand. Oh well.

Spent the day chasing pronghorns in the land of pivot corn and dry ground milo. It was nice to see pheasants and quail in large numbers! Did a lot of sneaks and stalks today. That is pretty country. I wish I could figure out how to get sorghum to grow up here. I'm still working on that. If you whack one of them speed goats, you gonna eat it?

Fun story; after crawling for 2hrs this afternoon through stickers, weeds, and milo I swing my bow around off my shoulder to get ready for a shot and there isn't a single arrow in the quiver! I lost every one of them on the sneak and didn't find a single one on the walk back. I have zero things to shoot at an antelope right now. Drive of shame back home first thing in the morning. Lol, who does that!?!

Lol, who does that!?! I’ve never done that but I’ve come close. Took my daughter’s Xbow for a late season hunt. After walking through brush I lost 2 of 4 bolts. I now keep a small Velcro band around the bolts. I think it is intended for holding extension cords.
