I recently re-built my Cub mower deck. All new spindles/idlers and a new belt. All of the stuff was cheap Chinese knockoffs. The belt made it for about 3 hours of run time before it snapped I just ordered one directly from Cub, but I imagine those are also made in China. Maybe they at least have some quality control...

Sucks to rebuild something just to have it still be junk. I recently rebuilt the carb on my 4 wheeler and it still doesn't run. Kind of frustrating since I usually do pretty well with a carb. You shouldn't have to worry about it for a while if they don't start unloading ships...

I have a neighbor that is a self taught small engine mechanic and a good one. He used to work at a dealer and has a junk yard of parts. Let me know if you want him to work on anything. Probably not side by sides.

Thanks for the offer though

I buy Stens True Blue belts. They were still made in the USA when I bought them a couple of years ago. Haven't had any problems with them yet.

Well, I finally got the C.C. OEM belt delivered. Got it on and mowed for a couple hours today. With any luck, I won't have to put another belt on for a long time (knock on wood)

Thanks for the offer though So much for that. One of the deck spindle bearings just took a shit. I was going to order one replacement, then figured as soon as I do that, the other two will take shits next. I'll replace all three and keep the two that are still working as replacements. Taking the deck off and putting it back on is not something I enjoy doing one little bit. Might as well do it once and hope I get another season plus of mowing without having to do it again. I suppose I should just break down and pay 3-4 times as much for OEM Cub parts. I have no idea if they're any better than the cheap versions though...
