I got this pic yesterday. Something must have kicked them up. If you look closely you can see 5 hens.

Fucking coopers hawk must have cornered a hen by my patio. A pair of them really moved in within the last week. See them all the time. Surprised they haven’t attacked one of our chickens yet.

Spotted my first group of pheasant chicks yesterday. Nice big group of 10-11 crossing the road by my mailbox. Good to see.

Hope the pheasants have a chance to dry out tomorrow before we get to below freezing tomorrow night. Holy shit is it sloppy out. Western MN pheasants are probably already screwed.

A few days back to roosters were fighting like it was spring.
Later I saw two pheasants sitting on a high line wire. I have never seen that before. It looked like they were struggling to balance themselves.

If this weather stays nice, the pheasants may have their best winter ever.

My overgrown pasture is full of them. Killing the cool season grass was the best thing ever for the birds. I was a thick mess of tall weeds. I'd say it's not conducive to hunting unless you've got a dog. I avoided killing any of them because I doubt I'd ever find it. Besides, I'd rather eat chicken.
