Just a word of caution. Bought a Reveal X direct from Tactacam in mid July. Deployed it on August 1st. Batteries went dead on Nov.1. Went to change batteries this past Sunday. Change out batteries and SD card. Go to turn it back on, nothing. Try different batteries and SD card, still won't turn on. The cam is dead, so I try to contact Tactacam for support thru app. Get to a point in contact that they ask for imee number or something like that. I have to turn camera on to get that number, I can't turn camera on so the contact page won't except my repair request. Get home go on web page same shit with contacting them, can't get number so report won't go thru. Finally get a contact for help to go thru and get a automated email that their customer service is reviewing my request further. Waited all day yesterday, no response, nothing. So yesterday I went on their face book page and asked how to get a hold of customer support to get my camera fixed. They refused to post, told me to get a hold of them on messenger, still no answer. So this morning I call them on land line, get an automated phone customer service. Once again they want the imee number which I can not give them because the camera has to turn on to get the dam number. I once again get automated email saying that they are reviewing my customer support review. So here I sit with a dead cam during the time a guy uses it the most hoping that some one contacts me so I can get the cam fixed. What a shit show.

Tactacam Customer service emailed me last night and again this morning. They determined that camera needs to be sent in to be repaired or replaced. Just got the shipping label now. Will get it packaged and dropped off this afternoon.

Obviously its prime time for cams, but sure is slow.
I have dealt with Browning a few times this fall, and have gotten decent response times. Sometimes a few days.
And no, I dont have Browning cam issues. Fucking birds pecked out PIR lens on 2 cams within a week. Now I have to try and replace the PIR.

I've also been disappointed in Tactacam support. Completely ignored online questions for more than a month. Phone support is non existent. Very satisfied with pics. But not capabilities of camera. If you set cam for multiple pics, you don't get them. example 3 shot burst only get one, the second pic taken, you have to retrieve sd card to get the others.

Thats by design so you dont kill your data plan. I have no issue with that and prefer that over dumping every pic to my phone. I suppose an option of having the ability to choose yourself how many pics per event to be sent via cell would be nice, but the way it is works good for what I want.

Problem I have is that the pic sent is usually the hind end not the head as they cross. Wouldn't kill my data plan, haven't come close to maxing out.

I surely wouldnt say the pics usually sent are out of frame. yes some are, but most I can see whats going by unless they are moving quicker.
I just checked my app and out of last 40 pics registered, 4 are out of frame that I cant tell what they are.
Is your cam mounted where deer are close to it as they go by? If its by a trail, are you angling it down the trail vs pointed across the trail?
Mine are mounted to see an area with a good distance of field of view.

I have 3 and luckily haven’t needed support, they’ve only been out one month, but the information they gave me directly led me to killing my 2nd best buck. For $120 per camera plus a $13 rental fee, I’m satisfied for now, even if they all exploded tomorrow. Nighttime pictures are very clear and battery life has been good. Adjustable settings on the phone app to boot, I’ve gotten way more than I expected at this price point. I’m sorry to anyone that has troubles, but with such a small initial investment, it’s hard to be bitter if one fails. Now if I dropped $300+ into one cell camera and customer service was anything but awesome, I’d be irate.

That sucks Tom. I’d think they’d just replace the camera instead of repair. Are they back ordered online??
The poor service you’ve received is probably due to them being a small company that can’t keep up with the demand. That usually doesn’t end well. I hope it gets resolved soon for you.
