And... what about tillage? Oh there'll be plenty of that. I've got the soil test going right now, amendments down this fall if the weather holds, Seed from big MO once the soil test comes in, till this spring, then plant my secret weapon. With God's blessing and a little rain I'll have deer coming out my ears next fall.

With this secret seed and tillage I'll have every deer in the county on my property from early spring until there's 2 foot of snow on the ground!

I was reminded that no matter which way the weather forecast says the wind is, it'll be the opposite as soon as I'm on stand.

I need more rifle practice, I can kill anything with a shotgun bird shot, but never have been a big rifle shooter/practice. After missing a decent buck on Saturday that should of been dead. I want to feel more comfortable. We have a pretty good amount of pheasants around. I doubt I can hit anything as I haven’t fired a shotgun in two years.

I have been looking back on my calendar notes for the last couple of years. The best of the season has not passed by yet, there is still a chance (I've only hunted about 30 minutes this year). I guess the note taking is something I've learned to value and gain confidence.
Also have learned it's nice to share. 3 separate and different people have talked with me about the huge buck they saw on our place last weekend. I showed pics of the best I have on cam and all said this one was bigger. I haven't laid eyes on it yet but it's certainly encouraging to get the reports.

I learned that I can pass a 3.5 year old buck and shoot an older and larger buck a couple days later. While I used to do that fairly frequently with bow, I had never done that with a firearm...mainly because I'm not used to seeing shit while firearm hunting.

I picked up our daughter’s buck at the taxidermist today. We need to find a place to hang it. I hope she will have room in her new apartment. She is moving out of one apartment for now.

That’s a cool buck with some odd junk by that left brow tine.
Did you ever see that buck before the day she shot it?

There is a trend of bucks spending the summer on two neighboring properties. With hard antlers and bow hunting pressure, they move my way. Cold weather helps as well. This two areas tend to be willows , meadows, and crop land and are about 1/2 mile away. I have the conifers.

He asked how you are doing.
