They know when the season is over. Tonight they ate crab apples, squash, and then headed to the corn.

My brother in law had this one by his 5 acres in Long Prairie. Pig of a buck!

Lots of big bucks (antlers and bodies) around this general area. The leader for buck weight in one local contest was 228 lbs. dressed the last time I looked. I've seen plenty of pics of 150" or better bucks from a 15ish mile radius the last few years. I gotta up my passing on bucks game...

Very good area … hate to say it again, but if you had Wisconsin season structure. It would blow us away. One more year (average) of age on these bucks and look the F out !!

Only got a couple decent ones that made it through firearm so far. I believe the last two pics are the same buck. They will look great in another year. A mild winter would help.

I wonder if our deer herds could handle the two buck per year per person harvest. I know I would spend more time bow hunting if that was allowed. I know that part hunting allows more bucks to be killed at present.

I wonder if our deer herds could handle the two buck per year per person harvest. I know I would spend more time now hunting if that was allowed. I know that part hunting allows more bucks to be killed at present. I don't know what would happen here with a two buck season. I do know that in WI, antlerless deer are almost always the largest portion of the harvest. In MN, antlered bucks are almost always the largest portion.

I’d look to states that have a great deer herd and pump the brakes on multiple buck tag conversation. Our state could afford 2 bucks but I’m glad they don’t. I’ve held back on questionable age bucks this year that would be dead if I could kill a second.
Let it build.

I hunted WI with both bow and gun for 25 years or so. In all those years I believe 1 time I filled both my buck tags. I could have done so many times, but chose not to.

If we had two buck tags, we would probably kill less does in this state. That would be good for some areas and not for many areas.
I would bow hunt more and probably try to kill a younger buck in cooler weather.
