Just wait ten years and they'll come out with another statement about why those ^^^ things are now considered fair chase.

Fair chase is what the individual feels right with. I couldn't care less about what B&C or P&Y think is fair chase, nor what anyone else thinks really. I use wheels and a release. I'm sure many traditionalist think I'm a huge cheater, and compared to them they are right. I still don't care. Rant over.

I like the cell cameras. Here is how many deer I have shot as a direct result of cell cams …0
I’m sure there are guys that have scored on a buck as a result of a cell cam. Controlled use on public land, I could understand. If they banned them on private land, I just would not listen. They come in very handy for monitoring a property for trespassing, etc.

Don’t care about record books. Only thing I would never do is a canned hunt. High fence. Not appealing to myself.

When I was a kid it was a 10 Mississippi head start.

Our Indian casino now has a high fence operation. They gave my boss a hunt for next year and he invited me to go. They have elk so I am hoping they let me shoot one of those. I don’t care about the trophy, I want a freezer full of elk. I will probably feel scummy afterwards but I will get over it. Elk burger is my favorite.

A trophy hunt would not. Especially for whitetail.

I'll be honest, I do struggle a bit with the cell cams. I suppose like most anything else, it's how they're used. If a guy is using them in "real time" to pattern a specific buck...I'm not sure that is "fair". To me, there's a very real difference between using your own eyes and a spotting scope/binocs to pattern a specific buck and using a cell cam. Just my $.02

Never been on a high fence hunt and won't claim to know anything about it until I've done it. I may love it and just don't know it yet. I fish ponds... doesn't get more "trapped" then that. And I've been on chartered fishing trips where I don't even have to bring poles or catch bait. It's a blast for what it is. When it comes to deer I don't even hunt food plots. I'd probably be a much better hunter if I did. Who knows, next yr I might dump a giant pile of corn in the middle of a food plot and pop one with a crossbow at 60yds. Here's the important part of my stance... I like that I have the freedom/choice to change my mind and give something else a try, even if it isn't something that turns me on today. Regulations should be dictated by game management and not a trophy club.

The first buck I shot in Mn (never had on camera)… the second in Iowa (had him on camera once this year). I have a lot of cameras, and they can help I agree. But I’ve found that I often end up shooting a buck that we didn’t even have as a target. Maybe they just moved in, or they live primarily on the neighbors? It’s still a crap shoot.

Just my $.02 I’m too far away to have cell cams be cheating, imo. Even when I’m up for the weekend it’s not like I got a picture of a buck and then went and killed it as a result of that pic/info. Where I shot mine this fall I didn’t have a cell cam in that area. I saw him the night before and went back the next morning thinking he might come back thru. And sure as shit he did. It’s just a nice way to know what’s around w/o having to disturb everything all the time.

I think cell cameras (cameras in general) can save deer too. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard hunters say . Well yeah the one that came out was nice, but not as big as the other ones I have on camera. My son passed a buck once, I couldn’t believe it. He said “Dad remember all the trail cameras pics”
