At one point, some of you fellers were talking about a dark water lake where the walleyes bite during the day (allegedly). What was the name of that lake?

Thanks. Looking for a VRBO for spring/summer. Not a lot of options on Big Sandy apparently I had a cabin on Bridge Road (also Called Long Point Road) for about 5 years. This road would lead you onto a bridge to the center of the lake. Good fishing all over the lake. Fish at 10 foot levels in mid-day under bright sun.....and the walleye bite is on. Just a few inches of water clarity. Water is like dark tea or coffee. Golden Walleyes. Very scenic lake. Not a good swimming lake. Water is bog stain.

If you could find anything in the Longville area, I could put you on some good day walleye lakes that are smaller (dark water type). We usually do well with walleye and crappie.

For some reason, I had been thinking that dark water lake you guys had talked about previously was in OTC. I'd prefer going NW instead of NE.

I am not aware of any dark water lakes in OTC. All pretty clear/light stained to very clear for the most part.

If it works, pm me with your experiences. I grew up about 25 miles by road from there. My walleye lakes haven’t done as well since they cut stocking. One other lake was very clear. and a night fishery. To be honest, I haven’t fished as much there in the summer for the last ten years as I hate the drive through Brainerd. I just might have to try Big Sandy. I wonder if BLB or Foggy are expensive for a guide?

Generally I would fish the tops of a few underwater bars....and seemed to always find active fish. Generally fished 10 or 12 feet deep IIRC. It's a big lake ......and quite scenic especially on the north and east sides. very little activity in those areas. Not sure it made much difference where we fished. What's your experience Mark?

Art.. the lake by Longville is Trelipe. Also Thunder is good, fairly clear lake, but seems to be a good day bite in 17-20 feet. We head up to Winnie for perch and walleye, and hit the other lakes on occasion. Boy Lake, Woman Lake, Iguadona all good.
(at times, it is still fishing)

I have been on four of those lakes but it has been decades. I have fished Winnie lately.

Blackduck Lake is another good fishing lake. I have a friend that lives up there. They catch walleye and perch all the time. .. & Red is close if you want a change of scenery.
