Hey guys I forgot I filmed a location, set, catch, and backround in a short 5 part video series a couple years ago when I was trapping a sheep farm. The location is not typical for me with all the open dirt and fences but good idea of what the step down dirthole and flat sets look like. Hope this helps it's on YouTube here's my link. Will be posting more on there soon. Fuckin coyote bastards ran off a field full of deer on my woman yesterday so hopefully get some new trapping and habitat vids rolling youtube.com/channel/UCTABKyXSkmW2MWSabMLnQHw

Digging around my photo albums. Posted a few videos on habitat stuff from the last year too. Got a drive by on a 20 acre field restoration that I've talked about on here

Dumb question.
I watch a little trapping on TV or YouTube. When they say dispatch an animal, how does a trapper do it? The dead critter never looks bloody. Do they choke it out or bash it over the head? Any coon or possum I’ve trapped gets a .22 to the head and then gets bloody. I don’t sell fur so I don’t much care. What do real trappers do to “dispatch”?

What do real trappers do to “dispatch”? I just use a .22 but on canine some guys use a club to knock them out. Then put a foot on their chest/heart and basically stop it from beating. Totally unnecessary in my opinion. Bobcats they choke out. Coons and all that get a .22

When I was trapping for fur I used .22 shorts to the head. I know guys use a syringe on a pole with acetone in it to kill their catches. Skunks won't spray if done this way. Once skunks went under $3 I started to use a shotgun. They didn't spray every time this way. I've never had a buyer concerned with the head/face. Don't nick the body though or you'll get downgraded.
