Old English 800 or Colt 45. Toss up. The last Foty I drank was Little Kings. Never saw a need to do that again.

Pretty spot, what county? Pope County (south of Starbuck). This 40 borders the biggest block of timber in the county … which is around 800 acres. Deer winter here. Then it’s agricultural primarily around it for miles, with some scattered woods, CRP, creeks etc.. quite a bit of water in that area too.

How big is that pond? Is it only on your land or does it stretch to your neighbor's place as well?
I think I need a pond.

The pond is around 6 acres and we have around 4 acres of it. All kinds of wildlife around this pond, good spot for deer to get a quick drink!

I'd really like a pond someday. I'd be happy with a 1/4-1/2 acre pond with the ability to sustain bass/bluegills.

Does that pond hold fish over winter? That looks awesome.
My neighbor built a dam that created a 1/4 pond that backs up partially on my land. He stocked it with a variety of fish and within 2 years the rainbow trout were 18". Then the drought hit and the water flow to the pond stopped and the fish died. It filled back up this spring and the bugs and frogs have returned.
I think if you dug out a deep hole in the center of a low spot and then added a dam to block up the water you may end up with a relatively low cost pond. I spend a fair amount of time thinking about a project like that.

I’ve actually never checked how deep . My guess is 8 feet. I think I’d need an aerator to keep fish alive ?

^Amazing how people got by with whatever it took years ago. I think that was very common in the day, good Catholics.
