I still have corn in the 1 acre and the 3 acre corn plot. Last year, the 1 acre plot was cleaned out by now. Deer and the feathered rats are working the one acre plot. Those rats are everywhere and not a pheasant back there. I did walk part of the edge of the sanctuary and saw a fair buck and a doe and fawn. And more rats. Nice to have the corn going into winter. I’m starting to agree with you on the Turkeys, they seem to be everywhere. I wonder if they take up residence in an area if they can affect deer movement? They make a hell of a racket and kind of take over wherever they are at.

Highway leading to the main plot. Still digging for bulbs Before the turnips, radishes, and squash/ pumpkins were froze hard, deer were eating them on my place. They had been preferring alfalfa and corn. After this snowstorm, I expect it will be more corn than alfalfa.

Five orphans are headed for last year’s cornplot. I feel that standing corn saves a lot of these little guys and gals.

I counted over 20 out there tonight. Numbers had been decreasing. I don’t know what they are finding to eat. There isn’t much if any corn left.

They are eating on blue spruce and whatever else they can find. A few are in the corn field. I felt sorry for these little guys and gals.

Deer have moved to the alfalfa over the last two days. 27 are in the alfalfa. 15 are in the corn plot. They seem to be focused on a low spot in the corn where I broadcast rye, turnips, and radishes.
