Is this something good or bad? I have a small patch of it coming up in an area I sprayed off last fall. I was thinking waterhemp initially, but the leaves don’t have a smooth edge. Leave it or Kill It?

I really like my stinging nettle patches since my pigs prefer that over any other food I give them.
I wouldn't want that stuff growing in a food plot, but I leave it anywhere else. It makes decent cover and never seems to take over an area, so I have no issues with it.

Does mowing alone keep it at bay or does it need chemical control?

Does mowing alone keep it at bay or does it need chemical control? Mowing hasn't stopped it here, but I suppose it's possible I haven't mowed it at the right stage of maturity. I have spent hours pulling the shit out of one of my clover plots. It pulls easy, but it's a PITA

FWIW..I spent a couple hours pulling hemp nettle and a few thistles today. Looks like maybe another hour or two and I'll have most of the hemp nettle pulled (the first batch anyway, I'm sure another generation will sprout). In years past I'd spend many, many hours pulling hemp nettle on this plot. I have no idea where the seed came from. I see a couple hemp nettle plants here and there outside of this plot, but that's about it. I pulled bushels of the shit today. It does pull easy. The oldest plants were blooming. Glad I got it out of there before it set seed.
edit...oh yeah. While I was pulling weeds I came to the conclusion that I'm spraying this plot with Imox/Basagran/Nitrosurf next spring. I didn't this year because I had some chicory and frost seeded forage collards growing. Next year I'm going to say screw the chicory and collards and see if the chemical combo will control the hemp nettles. There's also some sedges getting started, may as well get them under control too.
next day edit...About an hour was all it took to finish up today. I'll probably need to do another hour or so in a few weeks, but it is definitely much less of an infestation than it was a few years ago.
As I was finishing up I looked up and a fawn was bounding right at me. It stopped and checked me out at maybe 7 yards. It's twin bounded over on the other side. I could have damn near touched that one. Cool stuff happens in the woods.

I want to call #1 American Burnweed, but it's not quite right. If it gets a white blossom with cottony seeds, then it would likely be the right ID.
#2 is Curly Dock. A real PITA. Best to pull out using a potato fork to loosen the roots.

Best to pull out using a potato fork to loosen the roots. Ok that’s what I was thinking on the curly dock. Not sure if I’ve seen that before. The other one either. Just trying to get better at identifying this shit. I know we have wild parsnip at this place. Not in my plots but around the shed.
