I had to run to Wadena for work .. So I checked my soybeans. 2 acres. Weedy , not growing that great . The weeds are nothing noxious and not very tall. I’m contemplating just letting it go?
If I spray I think I’ll just isolate the beans and the deer will hammer them. I saw clover, grass, a bit of alfalfa in the plot.
What do you guys think ?

I've never grown beans, so my input ain't worth much.
If I was growing beans for as many full pods as possible for late season food, I'd spray the weeds. If I was growing beans for summer forage, I wouldn't worry about it.

I would spray the weeds for sure since weedy brassicas won't produce as many bushels of late season food. If you think the beans will be overbrowsed, you could always broadcast some brassicas in the beans for an added draw.
I did that a week ago on a couple of bean and corn plots that were coming in too thin. The spraying took out the weeds and in theory the brassicas will fill in any of the open areas. I've had decent luck with that plan in the past for overbrowsed or thin plots.

(I saw 9 deer there at it was 11 am. Appreciate any feedback!

I have always sprayed as I wanted the highest yield I could obtain. Allot depends on the type of weed it is, if its pigweed I would spray for certain.

Spray them. It is amazing how beans take off when they aren't competing with weeds.

I ended up just letting her ride. 3 inches of rain. Hopefully the beans will be mixed in enough and the deer will hang in there. Cameras show that there are plenty of deer around .

That area of the state may have too many deer-Parkers/Deer Creek/Hewitt area. I won't advocate for shooting more does, I think it is 3 now. We will try to take a few. It does not seem to matter.
It is just ideal deer habitat all around. I think I am wasting my time with beans to be honest. We have alfalfa, and clover. Worst case, maybe some sorghum would make it? Fall plantings of brassica or rye would be another option.
I would need 5-6 acres of beans to make it I think. Maybe my weedy beans will be a decent draw in Sept-Oct?

Well my neighbor just informed me that he did spray my beans? Ok no problem! I trade him alfalfa and some hay grass for the plot. All good. He said he saw 2 nice bucks on his property to the south (encouraging). Nothing big on camera as of yet up in Otter Tail C!
