Large shrub or small tree. Pic recently taken in northern MN. Had the same tree on the side of the yard growing up near the Cities.
Thanks

Tough to tell for sure, but I'd guess Siberian Pea Shrub (Caragana)

Do deer eat the pods? I never have seen them browsed.

Do deer eat the pods? I never have seen them browsed. I have read that the "peas" are used for food by chickens and other birds. I planted a short hedge of pea shrubs on my old place to try and funnel deer. They grow thick and thorny. The funnel didn't work (not the pea shrubs fault, just too open of a spot) but I did learn that deer wouldn't browse the pea shrubs. Not a lot of stuff didn't get browsed down there.

I am not a fan of Caragana. We planted some as part of a CRP tree planting many years ago. I do not see the upside?

I am not a fan of Caragana. We planted some as part of a CRP tree planting many years ago. I do not see the upside? On good soil I really don't see much of an upside either. They can form a rather inpenetrable (for humans anyway) hedge. Where they shine is in areas with high ph light soil (out west). They'll grow where not a lot of other shrubs/trees will.

Tough to tell for sure, but I'd guess Siberian Pea Shrub (Caragana) This appears to be correct. Or close enough.

I’d like to find out what this plant is because it blooms early and the bees and pollinators were all over it. The owners had no clue what it is.

My app says this. Thanks Regan. I think that’s it. Our yellow forsythias are starting bloom here so that makes sense. I think we will get a couple of these to plant for early bloom. Weird thing is I haven’t seen any dandelions blooming at home yet but saw a couple up north yesterday. Normally it’s the opposite.
