My current gas powered leaf blower is on it's last leg. In a replacement I'm considering a battery operated one. Is gas better the battery operated? Which way would you go? Please name some top brand of either.

Please name some top brand of either. I have a Husqvarna 40 volt leaf blower. Works good but goes thru a battery pretty fast. I also have chain saw and string trimmer with the same battery so I can use all 3 batteries which gets me thru any job. I also have gas operated leaf blower that is a pain in ass to start. Trade offs with both.

Ego blower does everything we need on one battery.
Plus if we have a double job i have a 5ah battery.
We have a polesaw, mower, leaf blower, hedge trimmer, chainsaw. All get 5 stars from me.

I've got an old Stihl gas model and a new Ryobi battery model. The Stihl is far more powerful. The Ryobi is pull the trigger and go. I use both. I use the battery one for clearing sidewalks summer and winter (light snow). I use the gas one for blowing leaves off trails/foodplots.

I have a gas Stihl that is 440 CFM. The Ego we have is 530 CFM.
My only con on the battery powered is the fact, some day the battery will get weaker and they are NOT cheap to replace.
But I am looking past that and will deal with it when the time comes. I have 6 batteries now, so i dont foresee anything to be concerned with.

I have an Echo Hand-held gas unit that has been a great unit. I always run no ethanol premium in it with Seafoam and it has never let me down.
Gas powered Stihl chain saw, pole saw and hedge trimmer, same approach with the gas and they have never let me down.
I do have a small battery powered blower (Harbor Freight) for blowing off the patio in AZ and that works fine but it would never work for leaves.

I have the 54 Volt EGO blower. Got one in MN and one in OZ too. Phenomenal power. We dont use our Stihl gas blower anymore. I added the "hedge trimmer" and the Chain saw too. Uses the same batteries and they are great tools. I use the chain saw anytime the job is quick and dirty. Instant on and off.....and quite quiet. Great for limbing trails and deer blinds.
My first EGO battery is now over 5 years old.....and going strong. Not sure the life expectancy? Good so far. EGO is the gold standard.

I have an echo gas leaf blower and it is awesome. I'm guessing mine is around 8 years old and I've never had an issue with it.
I bought mine because my brother and dad both had the same model and they highly recommended it.

I bought mine because my brother and dad both had the same model and they highly recommended it. Thats what I have and its combination of weight and power are excellent for managing leaves. It's that time of year and I typically have to clear my yard of leaves at least 3 times before I am done, the Echo works very well for that.
