I hadn't seen a buck on this camera in a couple of weeks and had 5 show up in 30 mins last night. It started with two does at 9:30pm and ended with 3 bucks (2 decent) milling around thirty mins later. Think it was a late cycle from a doe just gathering up before the storm? First Doe - 9:30 First small Buck at 9:39 and all 3 ran off 2nd Small Buck - 9:46 3rd buck - 9:52 Bucks 3, 4, and 5

I like the one antlered goofy bastard hoping to pick up some scraps. He’s just the hype man for the bigger one.

That is pretty damn cool.
It has to be a hot doe(can this years fawn have a chance to pop into heat?). That is crazy.

Some pics from last week. I assume it’s the same doe, at least I hope so. She’s definitely not a fawn. Weird stuff like this, spotted fawns in Nov, etc. help explain the trickle ruts that seem to happen every year now.

Didn't have any small fawns this year in November but the year before had a set of twins that were super small and nursing in November. This year I had more bucks on cam, mostly young ones than I had does. Funny thing was we didn't shoot any does last year and 3 bucks were shot on our property last year.

I'm not sure what to make of it. We have a good buck to do ratio. In fact, does spend a lot of time hiding during the rut due to constant sexual harassment. Bartylla floated a theory that that early and late born fawns are surviving due to the warmer climate and they are programmed to come into heat either early or later than the traditional peak breading period resulting in a flattening bell curve. That is as good as any theory I've heard. In my area the best days to hunt have changed in the last 10 years or so. Nov 5-10 used to be the best but now days most of the mature bucks are already locked down at that time.
