.17hmr Tiny entrance hole and never an exit. They just explode inside critters and drops them on the spot. My dad has shot a lot of coons and yotes with one.

If Wolves push out coyotes, that could help explain the crazy deer numbers in certain counties that have wolves (but not a large population). Todd, Douglas, Otter Tail to name a few … Obviously habitat is the key, but limited fawn mortality might be a factor. I’ve always noticed high numbers of fawns on my Parkers Prairie farm . That's because in those counties coyotes get hammered by hunters. Todd, Wadena, and ottertail have a big number of coyote hunters with dogs. I remember years where my neighbors would take out 60+ coyotes in a winter in Bertha with dogs. They put a hurt on them.

There’s a couple groups of coyote hunters in the Lowry/Kensington/Cyrus (Pope County)area. Good hunters with dogs. They got 10 in one day. I talked to one of the guys recently and he said they have not seen as many . The number of hunters has put a dent in the population. Good to hear !
