What kind of spacing am I looking at for black hills spruce ? I can do as many rows as I want. It just takes up more of the plot acres then. I’d say 10-11 feet ? Maybe tighter if you want a screen earlier .

At 10’ spacing I would need 23 trees per row.

The difference between planting those two sizes will be quite large. 75 decent sized 4 year transplants shouldn't be an issue with a couple kids to help though.

I would go with one row of jacks for quick growth and a row of spruce on each side. Plan on taking the jacks out once the spruce start to stretch out.
And if the spruce don’t make it, you still have the Jack pine. Make sure the spruce are miss matched in those rows.

Are these bare root trees? If so, I prefer smaller trees on light soil.
What do the rest of you guys think?
Tree mats and hauling lots of water might be better for the bigger trees.
