Options vary so much in my area, even just across the section to my neighbor. Ours comes via what used to be our home phone company. Anything local is strictly via the radio or their stations websites. We have no Local TV other than perhaps part of a Public television broadcast that is shared over three communities from 30 to 100 plus miles away.

I personally hate streaming. Hulu to watch this. Paramount to watch that. Disney plus to watch this,,,,, etc etc
I love cable because I have a single menu, aremote and change channels. I dont have to hop all over different services..... Do I get everything? No. But I dont care.
I must be getting old. I dont want to deal with trying to remember what streaming service has what.

We are streaming everything via Hulu. Yep it gets old trying to remember what to look for and where......and you do not have a "channel list" to work from. Also you gotta push so many buttons to do some simple tasks that it can get old....and sometimes just not worth the effort. I am learning to get along with what we got....but I enjoyed the simplicity of cable.

Cable is simple and easy to use, but when our cable and internet bill is approaching 300 dollars a month, it is time to make a change.

Thats kind of a key piece, you still need to pay for internet to stream(unless you are going to hotspot from your cell phone). When you cancel the cable portion, then your internet cost will increase because you arent "bundling" now. It will still be cheaper to stream, but is one streaming service enough to get what you want? Do you need 2 or 3 or 4 streaming services to get things you want? My main reason to stay on cable is one remote, no screwing around logging in, searching, etc etc. It definitely costs me more, but its convenient.

You can still get a digital antenna to pull in local channels fyi. Sports are hard to handle over streaming, you can get all the hunting shows via YouTube.

I use sling over the winter. After college basketball is over, I’ll turn it back off again until next winter. Otherwise live TV is unwatchable for me. I watch local tv via antenna at the cabin and I cannot believe how every single commercial is drugs, medical devices, vaccines, and then class action lawsuit marketing to people injured by drugs, medical devices, and vaccines.
Then there’s the local news: “Here’s what’s going on today in murder, butt stuff, climate change, and why everything is your fault and you should feel bad.”

Wife has YouTube and Philo tv. $65 and $20 per month. Daughter has Prime tv that she lets us use. More than enough channels for this guy.

I can’t do a damn thing about their mess and want to just enjoy the time I have left. Even their weather forecasts stink.

I kept the internet for $81/mo. I have YouTube tv for $65/mo. I will be pausing that this week until September when football arrives again. YouTube tv has everything for sports which is what I need it for. Locals also but I don't watch the local news anymore anyways. I get Amazon streaming by having Amazon Prime. Plenty of shows on there to watch. My spectrum bill alone was costing me $200 for cable/internet. This gets it to at least more reasonable now.
