I haven't tried a pheasant back. Did you get sick from them?

I did, but only because I chose to not cook them. I've had them cooked and they are just fine. They're not the forest treasure that a morel is. For the work it takes and flavor you get, they're not worth the effort IMO.

My website that I get recipes for tongue, turkey legs and many other wild game treasures has a large section on foraging. He says to never eat a wild mushroom raw. I guess even morels can be bad for you when raw.

Yeah, not my brightest moment, but it smelled like cucumber and I wanted to try it. I then spent five hours giving the toilet a high pressure acid wash.

Great day at work today. I have an outfit for a fuel customer that is literally in their busiest two weeks of the year right now. They need to be pulling fuel like mad to get their work done. I got a text from the GM late last night that their fuel pump was working poorly and hardly pumping. He asked if I could come out and take a look at it. I immediately told him, "Absolutely. Be there first thing in the morning."
After a couple hours of pulling shit apart and putting it back together, swearing, and searching for someone that actually knew pumps, we narrowed it down to a 90 cent gasket that had shrunk over 50 years. The pump wasn't priming. We had it working before lunch and they were absolutely tickled because one, it was done. Two, I'm only charging them $10 for a tank filter.
I'm trying very hard to break the "we can't/won't/don't do that" culture. The dude was very happy we got it fixed so quick and apologized for the situation. I told him I was thrilled to have the opportunity to save the day.

I work with a number of people that have the "its not my job" attitude. I despise that attitude and phrase.

I am struggling with just too much work. 10 minutes for lunch and no time to do or check paperwork. Work left every night for the next day. I will be glad when the full moon is over.
I am even having trouble sleeping as I wake up with work on my mind.

Crabapple had dropped about 50% of its petals. Man it happens fast.

If that's where you're at, I'm feeling good about the bloom up north this weekend.

Took the pic in Chanhassen this afternoon. I was in the parking lot of a hotel so I presume it's an ornamental Crab.

Ran into another guy that had a pile of 130+" racks from farm country SD. Racks that I'd be doing full shoulder mounts, they're so common here he just hooks 'em onto the fuel tank tub. This is one he had given to him by a person moving overseas. Apparently shot in the 1940s, and re-caped when he got it. 194" location unknown.

If that's where you're at, I'm feeling good about the bloom up north this weekend. Most serviceberries were in full bloom on Wednesday in western Carlton County with a few that had started by Monday. A few plums were just starting to bloom yesterday. I was thinking the crabs might not be until early this next week. From Monday to Thursday the buds on the aspen trees went from closed to opened up. Kinda nice to be up there and see it all happen.
