I do not hunt public land, so not sure why I care, but I am so frustrated with our DNR cutting down trees on public land. They have destroyed nice shelterbelts. On a public parcel near Starbuck. Pheasants Forever purchased the land for hunting, it then is turned over to the DNR (mistake). They cut down a beautiful fairly mature red cedar 3 row planting. This always had pheasants and deer in it. The DNR thinks trees are bad for pheasants and ducks, so the deer and pheasant hunter gets screwed. A lack of national deer organization hurts, besides northern MN, you do not see any wildlife areas that encourage habitat for deer. I see the same thing with land purchased by the Rice Sportsman's club that was donated to the DNR. Believe me guys, I share your same concerns and frustrations on the other topics mentioned above. Things move at a snail's pace if at all.

Its now 2019 and I was just approached from our Local MDHA chapter to come speak to them about what happened after brook's wild bunch won the right to audit the MN DNR deer management program. It appears the number of deer hides are down to less than 500 donated this past year, from over 2000 hides donated 10 years ago. They now want to know what has been happening to the deer, and what has transpired from that audit. My first thought was to tell them to pound sand, but I have not as of yet. Next move was to text Brooks and see what he thought, but I got nothing back from him yet. What do you guys think of this? Is it even worth my time to talk to these guys. The guy that asked me is a customer of mine and the former chapter prez.

Secondly a lot of places offer a pair of gloves or a knife for hides. Tiny gas staions in OTC are doing this now. People love a free knife I guess.

Every boob you can wake up is a win. Biggest problem out there now is the campaign to squash dissent and skepticism of the agenda. I'm talking to the point where nobody is getting responded to, and the media pipe is completely controlled by the DNR and the deer orgs with Lou's fist so far up their ass he's moving theirs mouths like a puppet.

Hunters by their nature Don't like the limelight, maybe over time we could actually get hunters to be more involved.

But I really don’t think most care anymore or are to stupid to know how much trouble deer hunting is in in this state. I think I will be wasting my time.

Your probably wasting your time, and they should know they are wasting their time with MDHA. Any positive local feel good activities are overshadowed by the fact they are paying $88,000 to Craig Engwall. Any traction local interests gain are queered by 'the states deer group.' Engwall is a DNR mouthpiece and a. piece of shit. I told him so again just last week.
MDHA is no longer the voice of the MN deer hunter. They are an arm of the DNR.
