If those wild apples are on light soil, I would drop a few fruit tree spikes around it and a bit of pel lime. Get some sunshine to it and you will have apples in 2019.

Wait, what?!?! haha Those trees are all on pretty good soil compared to what I'm working with at my grandmas. All of them that I have released had apples already on them when I released them last spring, and had boatloads of apples on them last fall. Hopefully even more this year!

Check out my post in the fruit trees section. There's experts out there that say human urine makes a great fertilizer. I may give it a try on a few trees this year to test it.

Just wondering why you need a jug, ..... They suggest watering it down to one part piss and 6-10 parts water. Spread it out around the roots. Not too close to the trunk.

I took an evening and pruned a friends small orchard. Big trees were planted in '03 by his grandpa that passed away shortly after planting, so they mean a lot to him. Never pruned before, I was kind of nervous to say yes. I wish I had done a before video!

Good job SC!!
That last one is a hurting unit. I'd think about planting a new one instead. It could last another 10 years with pampering but, it's going to be susceptible each year as well. They could've been sun scald that killed that bark. Did you find any shepherds hooks on the branch tips?

I would say the dead wood that was there was left on the trees for a number of years so I couldn't tell. The rest of the tree was growing great. Of course that is the tree that you first see as you pull in the driveway! Ha

I don't think he would. These are in the front yard of their beautiful place. I wouldn't want them painted at least!
I just ordered another 86 roostock, whoops..... 50 B.9 and 36 B.118. They were 20% off at copenhaven and I just somehow thought this was a good idea!
