This is very little erosion from areas seeded with reed canary grass. It actually holds the ground well in areas with seasonal flooding. Old timers used to plant it. I have not heard of planting it in 30 years. That makes sense. I'd never seen it sold as seed before.

Reed canary grass is cut and baled in many areas and sold as "marsh hay".
