Just got word from my taxidermist that my brother's WI gun buck from last year is done. I think he did a great job

Great Buck, nice mass. What are your guys thoughts on what produces mass, age only, genetics? Seems like good mass is hard to find at least around my place.

From what I've gathered... Genetics, dirt, diet

I saw a couple sets of antlers from just north of your place this spring and the mass was incredible. They did come from an area with heavier soil than what you have though

How many points are hidden. Very nice. Main frame 9, 10 total points with a split G2 on the hidden side.

You wont get good mass without them getting older for sure...... This states madness at shooting yearlings and 2.5 year olds wont provide much mass no matter if the soil is good, the genetics are good, or whatever other factors are in play.

Maybe I'm due for a big one this year.

Just about any mount would look good with that set of antlers on it! Great deer and a really nice mount. I keep threatening to mount a deer someday but haven't yet. Posts like this make me think twice about it.

Dang, you guys are going to make me feel bad about not doing a mount. I'll have to dig to find a pic, or just go take a new pic. Either way it will have to wait, no time right now.
