I just sold my first knocker a couple of months ago, a Crewcab 7.3 4x4 with a 8ft bed. I had it for several yrs and ran the miles up to 250k. I loved the truck but it was a pain to drive in town and parts were expensive. Hell, even changing oil and batteries seemed to cost a fortune. I'm good with going back to gas but I'll miss the mileage and low rpm power.
Good luck finding the one you want.

More oil, two bateries (shell shock to have an alternator go out and have to replace $300 worth of bateries), more filters (I replaced the fuel filter every yr even if it hadn't had enough miles on it). The first thing I did when I got it was service the trans with a new filter and fluid. I think it took 14 - 16 quarts to fill it. With that said, it didn't break often, it got 17mpg while pulling a trailer with a car on it down the highway, and 4x8 sheets of plywood fit in the bed without putting the tailgate down.

Told my guy at our Local Ford garage to grab me my truck from another dealer if its still available. Its a 2017 F350 4 DR, 6.7 Diesel with the XLT Premium Package. I really hate to write out a check that big, but what the hell does a guy do......

^ I know you haul allot of stuff on your trips to MO / Iowa. But you gotta wonder what the cost of freight would be vs the cost of your truck and a Prius. Grin. (OK.....maybe not a Prius.....but a 1/2 ton economy truck - and freight the big stuff?)

But when farmers call in season and want something today. You throw it on the truck and trailer and deliver today. Can't wait 3 days for shipping, or farmers will just buy elsewhere. Very demanding people those farmers. Sometimes if I need something, I can't wait 3 days to get it in, I drive down and back the same day to restock the shed. Can't be without a truck in this business. Plus I can write it off and still haul my own shit back and fourth to and from Missouri.

They completely updated the Super-duty in 2017 so I would not look at anything older unless they are giving you a heck of a deal.

My thoughts exactly! And after finding out the difference in License plates at $120 for a F350, verses over $600 for a F250......I went with the F350!
