As long as it is covered/incorporated into soil it shouldn't make a difference. I always disc mine after spreading.

Interesting. I always put my soil test suggested ferlitlizer in when I plant which usually is 150lbs/acre of triple 15 and 100 lbs/acre of 0-0-60. Then I hit it with urea right before a rain when it is a few weeks old. Wonder what the difference would be putting urea in from the get go.

I spread it and disc it in, then plant the same day or next day.

Sure would make it easier doing it at the time of planting rather than having to time it with a rain.

Do you guys still hit it with something after the fact or just let it go for the season?

I just call it good for the season. I am planting into last years beans with my brassicas so I have some nitrogen credits in soil already. Your brassicas will tell you if they need more nitrogen

I prefer to add all at time of planting. IF I am adding something into a standing crop I may mix the fertilizer and seed together for that, but that's it. I have stopped adding additional urea to my corn plots - they get it up front or they don't get it! For the most part I tend to not add fertilizer when over seeding a standing crop.....I'm feeding deer and not a lot of them, what grows, grows it's a bonus.....not a requirement for me.

Oftentimes I'm not sure if the brassicas are turning pale green because they are too wet or because they need N. Hard to tell.

Standing water can't be good on brassica. Zero oxygen will make it turn shitty quickly.
