I will say this, my golf course guy changed heads and shafts for 2 weeks to try and find something that worked. I know have an old R9 taylor made on this flex shaft that crushes the range balls. Go figure.....

^ A few years back.....I had lots of neck, shoulder, elbow, and back issues. I was struggling with golf due to some of those issues. I bought some Senior flex, grafite shafts on my irons party to alleviate some of the arches and pains. Now .....I likely get 10 yards less on my irons......but I dont have joint issues anymore. Well worth it to me.......but like you said......you need to let the club do the work and slow down your swing efforts. I do have stiff shafts in my driver and woods.

As long as your clubs "gap" the yardages at about 10 yard intervals.....having more flexible shafts wont matter much until you get to ranges of about 160 yards or so (for me)......as that seems to be a tough yardage to get accurate shots to the green (for me). Recently I replaced a 3 hybrid with a 7 wood.....and that 7 wood has been golden from about 165 to 175 yards or so. Next club down for me is a 4 hybrid.....which can be variable. I like my irons for reliable distances.

Lol LOL......I know what your saying here. But over time I have learned how far I normally and reliably hit each club.....and then learn how to hit 5 or 10 yards more or less by varying the technique. For example......I use a Gap Wedge (50 degree) to normally hit about 80-85 yards with a moderately good swing. But if I grip down on the shaft an inch or two.....and slow my swing to 80% of normal.....it will fly about 70 yards. OTOH.....if I lean the shaft forward prior to my back-swing to de-loft the club face.....and put a little harder swing to the ball......the club is good for another 10 yards or so. Thus my gap wedge can be played from about 70 to 90 yards depending on how I hold, position, and swing the club. And so it goes with most of my clubs......I have the normal range.....and a 5 to ten yard relief in each direction. MOST of my clubs will gap at about ten yard intervals......out to about 150 yards.....so depending on the wind and terrain.....I always have some choices that should get me close to the target if I do my part. The game really gets interesting when you can draw or fade the ball with these clubs as well.....allowing you to get around trees and such. Cant always pull these off....but when you do it can really trip my trigger. . FORE!

^. Hmmmmm. So.....I think you oughta host the 1st annual MO BUCK open at your local Mora golf course.....just a few miles down the road from your place. Likely should be a scramble so that everyone could play and have some fun. I bet you could attract a number of players from this site.....and more of your customers from the seed biz. It would be fun.....and a reason to hoist a few beers, have some fun, and buy a little seed and supplies from you. Put the Baracuda on the Bev cart and you could have some good beer sales too? . Do it in late May or Early June? Just a thought.

Played golf on Friday with temps just over 100 f. We did seek a little shade when we had to wait for folks in front of us.....but it was not too bad. Just need to keep sipping on water. Gonna hit 107 ? today......and were planning to play at 1PM. Maybe hold it down to nine holes....depending on temps. I think this is near the limit for temps for this soldier. Gonna migrate back to the tundra on Tuesday. Hope the ice goes out in Gull lake so I can splash down. FORE!

Got a new guy to play on our league team. Had league day for fun last thursday. 4 person team scramble. This new guy steps up and hits his first drive over the hill for about a 300 yard poke. I am thinking holy balls, I know who are number one is this year! Then by the ninth hole and 8 capt cokes later, he was hitting the ball 30 yards on his drive......so he won't work out very well on our team!

Was over 105 f today.....and we played pretty well in spite of the heat. I think this is about the limit as far as I'm concerned......but it was not "horrible". I shot an 86.....which is good in my book. Still....the heat is now becoming oppressive.....and I'm looking foreward to the tundra once again. Places to go.....things to do.....beans to plant.....enough of a good thing. FORE!
The desert is now in bloom with lots of beautiful cacti......and the little quail are now hatching and scarring about. Pretty cool.
