Sent off paperwork to buy my propane tank from my provider this week. They were pushing $100/year tank rent under covertly changed contract conditions. It was free tank rent if I used 50% of my tank per year. They upped that to 80%. There's no way I can use that much gas, so I was staring squarely at that $100 plus some liberal use of propane under the old rules.
I called around trying to price 250 gallon tanks in modern condition, and nobody would even sell one. My company offered to sell me a new one for $1200, or the one I have now for $500. I bought the one I have. Gonna switch suppliers next summer. These guys I'm with now are ok, but they're charging $3.00/gallon after June 1st, while the joint across the road is at $1.29.
I'm willing to pay ten or twenty cents more per gallon in return for good service, but not $1.71 more. I got my tank filled a few weeks back. My camp used 133 gallons last season.

Any chance of the new company saying not our tank so we cant fill it? No. Already had a talk with them. They also have a full service department, so I feel good about moving over.

I got a bill from a propane company in Princeton missouri for $900. They have been threatening collections, bad credit rating if I don’t pay it. I have never done business with the company ever. I sent them a certified letter telling them I have never done any business with them ever, so pound sand. So they turned it over to a collector out of California. So this should be fun! Lol!
