What's the plant in this photo that looks a little like a balsam/spruce limb tip? Anything that will kill it and not the clover? ebay picture hosting

Don't know what it is, but if it were me, I would over seed with more clover to thicken things up and keep mowing. Then after the clover is established target that weed then if still active.

Not 100% sure, but it looks like yarrow....could also be Queen Anne's Lace. I doubt if Butyrac would knock it out, it's some tough stuff.

Thanks guys. This an area under the old apple trees. The clover grew there on its own. This is the first year it's had sunlight in many years. I'll overseed it and spread more Lime this weekend and see what happens. Thanks!!

After reading about yarrow I may need to hit it with roundup a few times. I'll need to make sure there aren't any apple root sprouts where I spray.

IME...glyphosate will control yarrow but it won't totally wipe it out. If you want it gone, I'd hit it with a broadleaf/brush killer

I don't think that's yarrow even though it has a similar look. Yarrow grows more vertical with many more branches. I have a ton of yarrow in my crp.

I'll look around and take more photos this weekend. I don't remember seeing it growing tall. The deer are hitting that open area every day. I haven't mowed that area all year and it stays low. Maybe they're eating the weeds too.

I checked it out yesterday. It's yarrow. Some of the plants had white flowers like Stu's link. There's not a lot of it so I hit it with gly. If it comes back I'll hit it with the brush killer.
