Can anyone help with these? I'd like to know if I should liberate them. I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess viburnum on this one?

Not sure on the first one, I'd guess Nannyberry on the second. The leaves and fruits on the first one remind me of eastern wahoo or an escaped burning bush

I went and did some googling and that's exactly what it looked like to me. You'da man! Now this eastern wahoo/burning bush, something worth saving or trying to ID further? I only found two of these and they're close to getting choked out by overstory.

I sure would keep them until a positive ID is confirmed

The first one is definitely not burning bush. The bark and branches on burning bush are segmented. I have no idea what it is.

Here's a follow up photo of the first one from the top of this thread. Here is a different shrub not too far away. It looks different, but I've got no clue here.

SD,
Is that one a tree, bush, or vine?

SD, Is that one a tree, bush, or vine? It's a bush. I forgot I also have a stem pic of the second one. They're both bushes. And I suddenly can't get it to load. I've done some digging this morning on the second one. Could it be winterberry?

I used to have a lot of winterberry on my folks' old place, but I don't have any here.
