Yes I am being serious. Last year a hunter and a his friend decided to try it out. They ended up with the bear sticking his head in the blind that was made out of natural vegetation. Unlike a deer a bear can pin point exactly where the smell is coming from. Nose Jammer smells like vanilla.

I bet the next thing the bear smelt was shit. I think you might be right as they didn't want to go back out the next day.

There are some plastic disposable boots that fit over shoes or leather boots. These are used for biosecurity when visitors are on a farm tour.
I have no idea how much scent these booties carry. I might be able to find a few here at work.

I would think those may hold up for a walk to the stand in the morning....no? But I like the ones they sell for plumbers and maintenance men better.....as said earlier. I am considering buying a box of those. Cheaper than nose jammer and less odor is a good thing. Art.....Maybe you should get a pair of those......walk around your land a bit......and give us a report on the durability???

One of my golfing buddies told me that Sawyers came out with a product that is supposed to repel DEER FLIES. Fleet Farm is supposed to sell it.....but I was there yesterday and could not find it. Maybe that would work for chiggers too? I have the same issue lately.....my legs are all bit up from chiggers. Hate them devils.

Doesn't permethrin work on chiggers? I have tried heavy concentrate of deet and permethrin. Some still seem to get through. They are driving me nuts.

The best temporary relief I ever got for chiggers (haven't had them for years) was a thick baking soda/water paste. Spread that shit on thick and let it dry. Worked great, but was messy

But this makes things interesting.

Brad if you are going to use the stuff for bear hunting just spray it by the bait, not by stand. Also start spraying a little bit by the bait now so it is not a new smell come the start of season.
