I know a lot of you are veterans when it comes to bear hunting but I thought I would post this as it may help a few people out. A bears anatomy is not the same as a deer. 1st thing if you are in an elevated stand, you should not be more than 10 to 12 feet up. The closer you are to bait the lower you want to be. Your aiming point to hit both lungs which makes for the easiest and fastest recovery of a bear is 2/3 up from bottom of bear and 2 to 3 inches behind shoulder with bear completely broadside. If you do this the bear is laying dead 20 to 40 yards away.

Art shot the bear in the apple orchard last night. Hit him right between the eyes and dropped him on the spot. Bear also had a bullet hole in his paw. Bear was likely covering his eyes when Art shot. He may need to stop using such a bright light when he hunts. free image hosting sites
