Found a couple Kansas trees in the spring with blossoms and went back to check them last weekend. Fruit was tart as hell and had a pit in the center. Are these wild plums?

Some sort of wild plum, yes. Down there they could be Mexican plum, Am. plum, or Sandhill plum. Leaves don't look right for Am. plum, I can't ID the others.

Possibly not ripe yet, wild plum has a fairly small window of being good tasting before getting too soft. IMO best homemade jelly there is.
