Asking a little advice on what to plant for Otter Tail County (zone 4) that would drop in Sept and Oct......
I have a Liberty and Chestnut planted now, along with some small fruit crabs (such as red splendor).
Just want to add some variety.

Not sure what you are looking to plant, but Swedbergs in Battle Lake has all apple trees at 35 bucks now. I picked up 4 last weekend. Honeycrisp, hazen, sno sweet and harrelson. I want to go get 4 more. I am puttling all 8 in the garden behind my parents pole barn that they retired from production.

Based on Freeborns post today, chestnut crab sure looks to be a target to get!

This guy has good 7' trees, I think he gets them from Bailey's. Double liver and my boss have all of his pear varieties and they're all healthy after 2 years with no spraying or issues. Not sure on the drop times. He has Centennial, Dolgo, Whitney and Chestnut Crabs, too. You have to pick them up and this time of year who knows what he has in stock. He has to put in his order 2 years in advance so what he has in stock is a crapshoot right now, but you can order for the spring now and probably get what you want. theappletreeguy.com/product-cat/apples/

Definitely a lot of chestnut crab, I have an apple off a tree I planted last year. I buy them from Chris Pool for around $16-$18 each.

Chris Pool (Turkey Creek Trees). He is from Nebraska, has small orchard. Good stuff, I have ordered 3 or 4 times from him, so far every tree is alive and doing well. I primarily order chestnut crab, and Liberty from him (just for simplicity). I will text you his email....

Turkeycreek sounds familiar as a user name, did he use to post on one of the forums?
