Beans are ripe, its cold out, I hunt beans.....not clover. No beans within a few miles of me...no alfalfa either.

Only had beans close one year since I've been here. My immediate area has more woods, swamp, grassland, and pasture than row crop land.

Stu - Our deer are really hammering our clover this time of year. My personal opinion is it is putting on new lush tasty growth before going dormant for the winter but I have no idea if that is legit. All I know is we are planting probably another couple acres next year to take pressure off our other plots. We are also letting some people in to harvest some does this year. We have too many. I hate to post that since I know others are struggling but it is an issue for me.

I'd let the kids shoot does here this year (if they wanted to, doubt it) if I knew the yahoos to the west weren't going to shoot every damn deer they see. We have "enough" deer here, but with Intensive back (and I'd bet it'll be here for a few years now...) there's no way does are getting shot here. We'll never have the kind of dpsm you guys up there have. It's interesting to hear that clover is getting hit hard most everywhere

Nine acres of alfalfa on my rental ground. About 20 acres of alfalfa 1/4 mile north of my place. The wet fall has put lush growth on the clover, if it is not flooded out.
