Thanks for posting the picture. this buck showed up behind my house in Se mn for the first time a week ago. Best buck I had a picture of all year. I think the harem of does that hits my soybean plot drew him in. I saw him at 5 pm chasing a doe in my plot, but I was hunting 200 yards away because of the southeast wind direction. The doe ran off and I grunt snort weezed as loud as I could with my mouth and he looked my way and sprinted in. I shot him at 15 yards and watched him tip over after he ran 50 yards. He is my best bow buck, he scored just over 140" gross as an 8 with a 1" kicker on a g2.
I shot him sitting on a giant burr oak branch 15 yards off a field driveway between my two fields. The tree is too big and crooked for a stand, so I just sit on a big branch that I put a lifeline on. I usually get one or two pics of a good buck moving in daylight through that spot all year and I was lucky enough to be in the tree when he came by this year. My kids were pretty excited too, but they enjoyed the butchering process more than anything. Eye balls and wind pipes were pretty popular conversation topics tonight at my house.

Not many MN hunters I know have been around enough deer to know when diff calls might work. Its a shame - and congrats on MAKING your biggest buck happen!
