Somebody needs to stage a large dirt work project on their land. Money paid, machinery on site. That's what it's gonna take to get some rain. Tell your owner to line up the biggest dig and make it happen! We have to wait until at least mid July before we can dig. We’re going deep, I mean Roto Rooter. We’re not gonna stop until we make the great bore hole look like a sand box.

I did what I could to make it rain today. I sprayed my apples and sprayed for mosquitos. Might need to try and wash my truck as it’s not working. When my neighbor would cut meadow hay, we would often get 3 inches of rain. He has passed on. Everyone around here got 1st crop done with no rain on it. Won’t be a second crop.

Is it possible? 90% chance up to an inch? How'd that pan out? I saw some lightning last night. Zero rain

The rain hit last night and really helped our local farmers ! & my plots !! We had 1.1 inches in Starbuck, and 3/4 inch in Villard & Terrace. Very fortunate, we planted a plot last evening before the rain !

Looks like maybe 2-3 days out of the next 10 don't have a prevailing easterly flow. Until that pattern changes, I don't see much change to the lack of precipitation many areas are experiencing.
I'll be setting up the hoses to water gardens again later today.

Last night I checked on some of the spruce and shrubs I planted by my house this year and most are dead. It is pretty crazy how quickly it went from too wet to too dry. I probably should take a look at a few of the other easy to reach spruce trees to see if they can be saved by watering.
My corn and soybean germination wasn't great since only the deeper planted seeds had enough moisture to germinate. No measurable rain since I planted them 3 weeks ago. Normally just disking in seed has great germination despite inconsistent seed depth, but this year is different. A heavy rainfall should get those shallow seeds to sprout though, but the 10 day forecast doesn't look good.

Very fortunate, we planted a plot last evening before the rain ! Is that a 3 point hitch 2 row planter or a pull behind? It looks pretty nice. I've been thinking about looking at some no-till type 3 point planters. Some of my plots are small and irregular shaped, so a 3 point planter would be nice.

Had a couple cells go just west of me a bit ago. Strong enough to knock out sat TV reception. I'd guess a few miles west of me just got .5" or so. Almost got enough here to dissolve the sidewalk chalk from the grandkid visit on Memorial Day...maybe .05" if we're lucky.
Them's the breaks I guess

The radar looked decent at my place a few times in the past few weeks, but it must not be too accurate since very little rain fell. These storms that just pop up and disappear are pretty frustrating.

Zero heavy rain here. Rain gauge looks to have about .1" this morning. Not much, but better than nothing I suppose.
