Looks like we're going to get a week or so of well above normal temps, then a return to normal or below for the end of Feb. and March. Yeah, I sure hope my peach trees don't wake up the next 5 days. Ya, I'd be concerned about stone fruit waking up. I think we'll be okay around here as far as apples and pears go

My nephew says the snow is now above the belly of the deer target on his lawn. All this week. I'm headed north this afternoon. Have to pull snow off the camp roof and shovel the deck. Then snowshoe a trail 3/4 a mile in if I want to cut in my orchard. I may clear some nearer the camp instead.

Took a walk last evening with my lady and we went through a relatively "new" neighborhood that was built on an old par 3 golf course between 5 to 7 years ago. Most of the curbside boulevards were planted with some type of maples. They were planted as very large rootball trees and are now around 6" to 10" dbh. I walked through a "puddle" on the sidewalk that I thought was from the melting snow until I got dripped on and my feet stuck to the sidewalk! Looked up and a couple of pruned limbs overhanging the sidewalk were literally running sap on to the ground.

What was really surprising was the sheer amount of it on the ground, completely soaked 2 full sidewalk slab sections with a solid layer of liquid sap.

It was mostly gone at my place in town..just the edge of the road where the plow stacked it had snow.
At the farm there was still some in the woods. A couple more days of this warm weather and it will be gone, but Thursday night into Friday morning snow was forcasted and the end of our spring like weather

Warm enough we pulled out the fire pit and kids are roasting marshmallows. HaHa we've been doing that for a couple weeks already, no kids, but plenty of barley pop, brats and venison steaks.

Most of the snow is gone here, there's still a layer in the woods where the sun doesn't hit. We're supposed to have highs in the upper 40s/low 50s today through Weds, then reality returns towards the end of the week. Highs in the 20s, lows in the low teens
