Played golf in OZ yesterday. Got up at 5:30 to beat the heat.......but we were still playing at 1 PM. Slowest round ever. It was 105 degrees and pretty intense sun when we finished. Takes a bit to get used to this heat....but I was playing well.....in a scramble with 3 others.
I was playing over my pay-grade...lol. On one shot.......I had to clear a few huge trees and get over a deep arroyo .....and carry 170 yards on a blind-shot) to get to the green.......and pulled it off. Felt like BMOC after that feat. lol. Of course we then all blew the chip shot and had to settle for a bogy......so goes golf.
EDIT: I know that few people here care to read about Golf......however I put up with lots of apple conversation.......so it's my way of "getting even". Grin. I see there is a chance of rain in MN today.....I sure could use some. Hi....how.....are.....you.....hi.....how....are....you....

I'm sick of summer here, couldn't imagine wanting more of it in October. This should be the best month of the year in the upper midwest.

I’m sick of this summer like weather, but I don’t want a blizzard like that.

Not even a frost in the 10 day forecast around here. Bone dry. I just took some water over to my water hole. Hopefully the deer will come to investigate.

I think we've had 4 frosty(ish) mornings so far, with nothing any colder than 30 or 31. 10 day forecast has one low in the upper 20s and one in the low 30s. Pretty warm right up until Halloween.
Are we going to go from summery weather right into winter? Seems like summer/warm weather is lasting longer into falls and winter is lingering longer into springs the last 5-7 years or so.
I'm not a fan

I'm not a fan I’d like to see this warm weather in January, but not now. It sure seems like we go from summer to winter more often than we used to with very little of the typical fall weather. The deer should be in great shape heading into winter though.

Agree a lot. we go from summer to winter in a flash now.... and winter to summer in a flash it seems more often than not.
I miss the Octobers of the slow changes.

Bwoods mentioned high corn yields in a different thread.
Corn yields here at the edge of the corn belt have been tremendous. Some dry land was well over 200 bushel.
I have seen apples ripen with different flavors this fall. Specifically Haralson is much sweeter. Maybe the extra heat units or longer period before multiple frosts has helped.
I think that some of the changes we have seen have been good things. Like everything, there is good and bad.
