Even if the DNR eliminated cross-tagging, it would do very little to curb the kill until they get rid of electronic registration, and make hunters bring their carcasses in for registration again. IMHO The electronic registration was a step in the wrong direction in my opinion. It is handy but its ripe for abuse.

I like having one tag instead of this bonus tag deals. I also see less of the illegal party hunting, but most of the hunters I know are mature... maybe I should say old. If they ever canceled party hunting: Arts daughter be like "Where you going dad?" "To the deer blind" Art replied. "But you killed one yesterday. And the day before that - Remember?" Art, "You look familiar. Who are you?"

IMHO The electronic registration was a step in the wrong direction in my opinion. It is handy but its ripe for abuse. Taking deer in to register really helped the small businesses in rural Minnesota. In reality, most of the deer were never looked at by the person doing the registering. Who would leave the cash register unattended and go out to look at some dead deer? Does your average 16 years old girl even care? Many deer were registered and never brought in to the rural store.

Quite the laundry list of violations. About the only thing missing is illegal sexual contact with a deer.

Evertbody I know party hunts. All of my friends, family. Everybody. SKOL? Can believe the number of guys 'tagged out' still chasing more. Talked to a guy at Runnnings shot 2 bucks opening day and is now focusing on a big buck they have pictures of.

I am legally party hunting up in zone 1 today. About 15 deer are on the fields all ready. Was walking along a state highway and a decent buck and doe jumped up and ran between a guys pole shed and house.

If done legally and morally right. Knock yourself out. Too many ABUSE THE TACTIC. Whose morals are we using? That is the issue. Lotsa guys feel OK with morals like Sandman....just for one example. (JK art) Perhaps there is some way to wean people off Party Hunting? Maybe to use it in "intensive harvest" areas......or just in Zone 1.....or??? But if it were used on an occasional basis....it might be one way to get folks off the Party Hunting band-wagon. Gotta confess: We do sometimes use the Party Hunting idea in our camp as after killing a small "meat buck" guys still want something to do.....and will hunt for only a "big one" (like a ten pointer). They don't want to go home (usually car pooling family members) and don't want to sleep in the next day. I am not about to chastise someone whom hunts within the law. i cannot think of a single instance where it provided another deer for any of our hunters. A big nothing burger. ZIP...point....zero. Just saying.

Again. I am not against party hunting.
I am against bullshit tags left at camp or groups just filling tags to fill freezers.

Again. I am not against party hunting. I am against bullshit tags left at camp or groups just filling tags to fill freezers.I thought that was what party hunting was for. Why else would you shoot someone else's deer, or let someone shoot yours? Filling freezers is the only reason I come up with. I suppose an occasional "mistake" may happen where a person killed two deer with one shot, or some other unusual occurrence. Other than that...the reason to party hunt is to fill tags and freezers.

Hence my disgust with it. Shoot your own deer.
Use it if someone wants a trophy and has already shot a scrub buck.
One guy filling 5 tags. Bullshit.
