This looks like a good idea particularly for those with areas difficult to get into.

Looks uncomfortable. Also how would you shoot accuratey with not being able to get your knee up to use as a rest. Should have a second fold out platform to rest your legs on once you are up.

I hunt from extension ladders all the time. It's nice to have something adjustable to match the tree or surroundings. I also have a stand inside the grain bin of a combine, a pop-up blind on the roof of a shed, and have shot doves from a ladder stand... so nothing is out of the question with me if it puts me in the right spot. So a step ladder is certainly not out of the question but I can't say I've tried it yet. Nice find!

With a little ingenuity you could make a larger seat and foot rest to make it more comfortable. i would not have a problem shooting 100 yards off that stand. Practice would probably provide some insight on how to position yourself on the stand.

I'm going to build one next summer, not allot of expense and it could open up some opportunities.

First buck I missed with a bow was from a 6' step ladder that I had "converted" to a ladder stand (of sorts). I think I was 16 or 17. I was hooked on bow hunting from then on.

I've considered taking a step ladder into the edge of the corn the past two seasons, but never do. Probably should.

Usually have some sort of blemish or dent that makes them not osha compliant. The are light, adjustable, and easier to put up than a ladder stand. Bolt a chunk of plywood to the second from the top rung and attach the top to a tree with a ratchet strap. I do have to admit that they are not as comfortable as a true ladder stand but comfort is secondary for the right deer...

I have been looking at the Millennium Treestands T-100 Tripod Stand, it is 36 pounds and the seat of the chair is about 7 feet. I cant get myself to spend $300 on it. Some of the cheaper versions weigh twice as much.
I can see where this can come in hand in marshy areas, and recently logged areas that thick in 3 to 4 inch trees. Both of which I have been seeing on the public land I visit.

The legs on any tripod or ladder would never sit in or on the ground properly. My luck one of the 3 or 4 legs would sink a foot deeper than the others! LOL!
