I reccomend the camp chef pellet grill with side sear plate. I love this thing and will never use gas again. Makes cooking fool proof and even if you over cook it is still juicy. I leave all my backstraps whole now and put a light smoke on them till they are pink in the middle. The sear plate is gas so along with its intended use you can cook something quick on it with out using the main grill. Took my jerky to a new level, thanksgiving turkey, steaks, chickens, pizza, it does it all.

I have a Pellet Grill/Smoker. I can smoke meat at 200 degrees or sear a steak at 600 degrees. I will never own a grill again. So what do you have? Is your WIFI thermometer part of the grill/smoker and controls temp or is it stand alone and no temp control?

The Green Mountain I just got has two probes (meat probe and box temp) that is wifi linked to my phone. I can adjust the temp with my phone too. This thing kicks ass!

You mind asking what you gave for it? $299 but after buying a bag of pellets, a cover, and a couple of extras along with tax it was in the upper 3's.

A bigger one would be nice but not necessary. I can cook a whole brisket or rack of ribs so it's holding its own so far.

Take to the property and do the cooking while doing other stuff. It comes with wiring for both. It's legs rotate up to make an easy carry handle, it's fairly light, and it has built in short spring pads for tailgate use (when you want it short).

Ok I'm thinking about doing my first smoke this weekend. What would be an easy thing to start with that even a dumbass like me can not screw up?
